Power Roof Kit

home

The next mod I did was to install Fleetwood's power roof motor kit. The kit works really good. The total cost was around $475 for the parts. Its rather complex to install and the instructions read like a bad set of Japanese stereo instructions.

The kit consist of two basic parts.

1 Motor & control kit

Whiffle Tree  (ball screw type not Delron )

Here's a copy of both instruction sets   Delron  & Ball screw types {Big Files 9.5 & 10.75 megs}

I haven't figured out why the Dealer wanted to change out the Whiffle tree but I assume that the ball screw type is stronger.

So anyway, after removing and replacing the Whiffle tree. I replaced the crank assy. with the motor kit. Instead of going step by step, I'd suggest that you read the instructions  above.

Anyway when the motor kit is installed it looks like this

The top goes up in under 30 seconds. The kit took all day to understand the instructions and to install.
